Core Consulting maintains an international position and signs a new contract with the Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health & Wellness – https://www.moh.gov.jm) of Jamaica.

Over the past 2 years, Core Consulting has been developing a consultancy project and implementing a digital health services platform in Jamaica, and now reaffirms itself as an international provider of digital health solutions in this country. The interest in increasing the efficiency of health management meant that, in 2022, the Jamaican Ministry of Health initiated the SHROP project – Shared Health Record Open Platform – for consolidation of an open platform based on standards to constitute the Electronic Health Record in country. With resources from the IDB, the Jamaican Ministry of Health carried out a rigorous qualification process, from which Core Consulting was selected to provide consultancy, technological solutions and implementation of digital health services.

Throughout the project phases, MPI functionalities were developed and implemented – Master Patient Index based on the Fluxmed platform, in order to consolidate not only the various data sources of identifiers and demographics of Jamaican citizens, but also enable the issuance of a new national identifier, in addition to integrating vaccination and COVID-19 case notification systems with clinical analysis laboratories, as well as developing analytical panels for management and indicator monitoring.

Business challenges were overcome with consultancy, guiding and defining standardized models and services for demographic data, clinical information and identification of existing systems, and then, with the use of the Fluxmed platform, accelerating interoperability and ensuring consistent and processing of population health business cases through a polyglot Electronic Health Record based on a robust architecture of digital services capable of communicating through standards, especially FHIR and openEHR, in addition to simplifying all the complexity of audit management, authentication, authorization and consent, as well as auxiliary solutions to facilitate the adaptation and connection of own systems, both in load regimes and in real time.

The experience was enhanced by the presence of consultants from other countries, such as England, who brought technical analyzes and important contributions to the maturity and validation of the project, which greatly contributed to consolidating the technical capacity of our team and recognizing the impact and usability of the Fluxmed solution in broader international scenarios and challenges.

Now in 2024, Core Consulting participates in the continuity of the trajectory of the SHROP project, to formulate the technical design for the construction of the central health information repository (CHDR – Central Health Data Repository), expanding the benefits of interoperability in the formulation of a national data lake with analytical power for population health management at different levels and scopes.
